The other day, I was sitting in the comfort of my home watching television. Seriously The Idiot's box is full of shit, but still people love watching it. I wonder why (even I watch it though). Bored of the same old movies and songs and flashy commercials I turned my head to the other side of the room. The Balcony. It feels so good to even just look at the greenery. Especially when it can be seen from the comfort of your home.
While watching at the trees and lush greenery, I noticed two sparrows(probably a couple) chirping and playing joyfully. That scene still flashes my brains.. I was watching them for a long time and never got bored. They were so entertaining, going from branch to branch, window to window, and playing hide and seek. After all that play, they started collecting twigs and grains for their nest. Then they disappeared.. I went back and sat on the couch thinking how the sparrows might be communicating with each other.. Fifteen minutes passed by and I suddenly heard the loud chirping of a sparrow right outside my window. It was frantically searching for its soul mate. Even I came to the balcony out of curiosity to find the missing sparrow but in vain. On returning back I saw dark tiny spots all over the wall. On going closer, I found the body of a sparrow beheaded and fallen helplessly. I was shocked! The head of the poor sparrow might have been ruthlessly cut by the blades of the fan. It was dead. It's head was lying a few feet away. I was so shattered. Seriously, I hadn't seen death so closely even if it was a poor insect. I was sad, I didn't know what to do. I picked it up gently with a piece of paper and along with its head and took it to the balcony. As soon I was keep it there the other sparrow came swooping towards its heavenly soul mate. I went close to the sparrows, the sparrow refused to budge. Usually when humans go towards sparrows, they just take off. But this was different. I watched closely. The sparrow was trying to wake the sparrow as if it was just in a deep slumber. Tears rolled from the teeny eyes of the sparrow. It was chirping frantically and crying. I could make that out from the type of chirps. They were not joyful, they were mourning. I felt very sad for that sparrow.. I wanted to do something for it, but what could I have done? I thought about burying it but the other sparrow just didn't let me come near its soul mate. Even that small creature was not afraid of a being 100 times larger. I got to know the meaning of true love that day.
The next sight that I saw was astonishing. I didn't hope for it. The sparrow called out its friends and family and there came a huge bunch of around 15 small chirping grieving sparrows. All of them were so well organised. Two sparrows came and held the head of the deceased sparrow and flew off. The rest caught hold of the paper which had the dead body of the sparrow and flew. The most grieved sparrow was behind them all and this was leaded by the two sparrows who carried its head. I wonder they took the body of that sparrow for a proper sparrowian burial which humans couldn't have done better. My home in the sparrowian was a devils' home for them now I suppose. :(
That day I learned, death can't be stopped. Whatever happens is the will of the almighty. I also realized, true love knows no boundaries....
